anime traps anime trap

Da fuq?

Anime trap: Trap characters are people who dress in the opposite gender, and who act like the opposite gender emotionally and physically. A trap does not necessarily have to be a homosexual.

Bearing in mind that the term TRAP is appropriate only in anime, it can be quite offensive if used in real life. The term trap is usually applied to a character that looks and acts like a beautiful woman but once you to her for a fucking you find out she has extra equipment.

For some reason, traps have become popular even among those who consider themselves heterosexual. The otaku usually consider the character trap to be one of the best characters when present in an anime.

Another more formal term for this type of character is femboy.

What’s The Fucking Point of It?

Like quite a few other tropes of a lot of anime; manga; and VNs do, the reason that anime creators implement “traps” is built around the idea that these franchises both encourage and punish their perverted (almost always chiefly male) fanbases.

It’s Japan’s way of saying fuck gender political correctness and gender stereotypes. That boys have to look THIS way. Do THESE kinds of things. DRESS like this.

You can test that belief by walking outside in a skirt as a boy, and finding out the hard way (assuming no one kills you).

And obviously this same thing is used in hanime/hentai. Only add porn scenes.
